What is Responsive Design?
Since the invention of the smartphone a new concept of website construction needed to be introduced in order to display the same content on divers devices.
Responsive design matches this concept.
iPhone, iPad, Laptop, Desktop
Whether it's a desktop in the office, a laptop at home, a tablet or smartphone, every device has very different screen widths and heights.
A single site for all devices.
The vertical "dimension"
The preference of using a smartphone is in more than 90% of the time in portrait or vertical position.
The content will be displayed vertically in blocks on top of an another.
The horizontal "dimension"
Content in text, graphics and images will be offered in landscape format for example by a laptop with a screen ratio 16:9.
The content will be displayed side by side horizontally.
The "Responsive" solution
The term responsive design is called that way because it "responds" to the respective formats of the device with the premise of universal accessibility of any web content.
It allows to be stretched or compressed to the width of the screen.
